How Uncomfortable Are You Willing to Get

Are you starting a business or setting yourself a goal to do something new?

Are you going to treat it like a new years resolution or are you committed to it?

Most people say they want something but they give up really easily…Why is that?

Well the reason is really simple:
While we say that we want something….what we are really thinking is I’ll give this a go for a while and if it works then I’ll do it.

Does that sound insane to anyone else? I’m not pointing fingers at anyone here with that statement because I have done this too.

The idea that I’ll do a little work and see if it becomes massively successful and then i’ll do more work just seems completely backward now. We’ve all heard of overnight successes in the music industry or an actor who nobody knew yesterday is suddenly on every paper this morning.

Do you think that they really became an overnight success by luck…..that somebody spotted their talent and made them a  superstar overnight?

What we don’t see with the people who are at the top of their game is the 10 or 15 or even longer in some case of years of work to get to that point where when they have that breakthrough that they can enjoy it a bit more but that only comes after the years of work before.

Do you think any of these people who have put in 15 years of work in a specific industry or doing a specific job and are now earning millions….did it by luck? No chance.

They see the long term gains and that they will get there if they keep at it.

I personally think that the first few months are the crucial parts when starting out doing something new. The reason for this is that you become uncomfortable because you have never done it before and this isn’t where we want to stay.

When I started out online building my business, I remember being so frustrated on so many different occasions because things weren’t going as I had planned and it is difficult to keep doing the work with when setback after setback keep coming up.

I also realised that after a certain amount of time, it gets easier. What I mean by that is that I became more certain that this will work so it meant that everytime something did not go to plan that I looked at it differently.

That didn’t work….How else can I do it?

If you can get past that initial stumbling block of wanting to run because it is uncomfortable…your chances of success get bigger and bigger because the longer you stay with it…..the more the competition gives up so that when you do get to have your business running well…there are fewer people there so you can make more money.

Stick with it. Do the work and know that it will pay off. (That advice is for me too. )

How Do You Shorten the Internet Marketing Learning Curve

The one thing I have been trying to figure out about other people who get involved in internet marketing is how do I help them shorten the curve?

The reality is i’m not entirely sure but I do have a few suggestions. The first of which is be stubborn. Decide it is going to happen and stick to that idea and be really stubborn about it.

The second is start with one area and do not leave it…you can be really stubborn about that too. Stick to that area until you have mastered it.

I think that the journey to get there is more beneficial than the goal. The sooner you commit to that goal…the sooner you can you can get started on that work and sooner you can grow into that person who can actually attain that goal.

What can you do to help yourself?

1) Commit to the process and understand that the goal will come

2) Do the work and learn it one step and process at a time

3) Don’t ask for advice from people who have never done what you are trying to do

4) Get a mentor…..get help from someone who can actually help you do what you want to do

5) Take the advice when it is given and don’t think you know better

6) Enjoy the ride. It’s gonna have highs and lows and ups and downs so enjoy it and don’t expect anything else.

Internet Marketing Cycle – Does Your Journey Look Like This

For most people who come in to internet marketing or home business opportunities the driving force always tends to be money or lack of money which is why we get all the hype with the marketing

Most people who get started have an idea that the journey will go along the lines of this: get started, don’t learn new skills, put little effort in and earn lots of money very quickly.

The reality is very different for most people. They come in and don’t put the effort in and get very frustrated very quickly and quit or just can’t decide on which opportunity is for them.



There are some people who actually stick it out and choose that they will make it and get ‘internet marketing’ to work for them.

These are the people that understand that if they do the work then they will get the results. They stop looking for the results right now and just get stuck in and do the work and leave the results take care of themselves.

It is the same habits that people who are top earners in any industry have. They concentrate on doing the working and learning the skills and they do this one skill at a time. They are patient and know that the hard work will pay off.

I understand this now but really did not have a clue when I started out.

The idea that I would have to work on and learn about myself in the process of starting and growing a business was way out of my thought process.

I see now that if I am not willing/able to grow as a person then my business will never grow.

When I figured that out, I started going to event, seminars, courses and getting mentors and am making huge strides now.

I know now that I will be successful and that it does not happen overnight.

Those ‘overnight successes that we see on tv and hear on the radio have got 5-10 years of hard work at least behind them before the became successful overnight.

Are You Worrying About When It Will Arrive

So you are new to internet marketing and you are excited cos you are going to make 10k per month

Then you do some work and nothing happens and you start to get frustrated

Now what do you do????

This is the point where most people will get overwhelmed and want to give up and want to know how fast they can make a return on their money.

The honest answer is ‘it depends on  you’.

That’s a crap answer if you were looking for a specific day isn’t it.

The truth is that you will get out what you put in.

Most people will come in and do a bit in one area and then do a bit in another area and won’t make any money because they do not commit to the process of learning a new skill set and putting that into practice everyday.

I don’t say this pointing fingers at anyone because I went through that phase of unrealistic expectations too but I didn’t give up.

The more you worry about the goal and when it is coming, the more you are distracted from doing the work that will get you there.

It’s like going to the gym, You don’t expect to lift really heavy weight straight away. You understand that you will get stronger over time and eventually reach your goal.

Internet marketing is the exact same but because so much of the marketing is rags to riches and fast cars then it brings in alot of people with those sorts of expectations which means that they will get a rude awakening at some point because it just does not work like that.

Look at anything in your life that you are really good at now, sports or career or anything. Did you just have  a go at it and realise that you were one of the best in the world straight away….I didn’t think so.

If you want to get good then you need to understand it is the same as anything else. You need to plant the seeds and then look after them and then wait until the season comes around to harvest.

Don’t try to hurry the process because you can’t and you will get really pissed off and frustrated.

Stop worrying about the when and just know that if you are willing to do the work then it will come together for you.

Are you building relationships with your list or are you leaving all that money just sit there

Your List Is Your Most Valuable Asset but Are You Using It

Every online marketer worth their anything will tell you to build a list…..

But they don’t tell you what to do with it once you have it

The whole point of building a list is so that you can build relationships with the people on it so that they will know, like and trust you(well some of them anyway)

I know so many people who are spending their hard earned money building a list of customers and potential customers and then the list just sits there and and you do nothing with it.

I don’t claim to be different on this on, I have done this too.

I got so caught up in building a list of people and increasing the size of that list that I forgot to talk to them.

You have a massive list of people who have all raised their hand to say that they are interested in what you have to offer and you let them sit there and they might not even know your name if they saw it.

The old way of marketing is fine if that is what you want but it doesn’t excite me any more and I think that any time you can give someone else a bit of yourself and show them what you are really like instead of being one of those people who tries to please everyone, then you get people’s attention because you care about them and you give them value.

How surprised are you when someone shows an interest in you and actually care about you….for most people the answer would be ‘very surprised’.

We are so used to being treated like cattle that we are surprised when someone actually takes the time to connect with us.

This is the same thing on the internet.

You can be that person that sticks out miles because you give people a look at the real you and let them decide for themselves whether they like you or not.

If they don’t like you that’s great because you can get down to having better conversations with those people who actually do like you.

You then get to work with people who you actually get on with…isn’t that a nice idea.

Start talking to your list today.  Get them to take some action just to let you know they are still alive and interested in what you have to offer. If you get no response from them….get them off your list and don’t waste any more time trying to talk to them.

Just Throw Your Money Away

Have you been marketing for a while now?

Have you been thinking, if I can just spend another 100, i’ll figure it out?

Have you been spending money and not knowing why it is not working or what you are getting in return for your cold hard cash?

Well, my guess is you are not tracking what is going on. You don’t know which of your pages is converting better than the others and you are not willing to spend the time to find out.

Am I wrong?

Do you know what the difference between you and the guy who is earning 10,000 per month is? He is paying alot of attention to where he spends his money and is tracking everything and my guess is that you are not.

It’s ok, don’t feel bad about it, we’ve all done it. The important thing to realise is that, tracking is not complicated and it is a skill that you can learn reasonable quickly.

There are various types of tracking software, free paid, simple or really elaborate. There is an idea out there that paid software is easier than paid but I believe that this is also down to the fact that people are lazy and if there is a way to do less work, most people will do that.

It is completely up to yourself but I would highly recommend you begin with free or low cost software depending on your preferences, the reason for this is that you will have to learn and understand it better than you will if you just by a package to use.

Figure it out and then it will help you to save money on your advertising for the rest of your life.

Stop being lazy and don’t spend another penny until you get your tracking in order.

Learn it, use it and reap the benefits.

Liam Kearney Are You Doing What You Need to Do

Do you make it a habit of doing what you need to do?

Or do you just do what you want to do most of the time?

Most people will do what they want to do.

Just don’t expect us to believe that you are doing everything you can if you are only doing what you want to do….cos you are giving in to doing the easy thing.

Are you good at busy work or do you make a habit of doing what actually ‘needs’ to be done?

Just don’t expect things to change if you continue to do the things that you have done up until now because they won’t.

If you want different results than you have been getting then you are going to have to start doing things that are different than you have done before.

Make a habit of doing the things that need to be done and your life will change in ways that you could never have imagined.

You can apply this in any area of your life and make massive changes. I lost over two stone last year in a little over a month and have never put it back on. I made a habit of doing the things that needed to be done and have stuck to it since.

Before that I actually believed that I was doing everything that I could but I wasn’t. I was doing everything that I wanted to do but was not really committed and was not doing what I knew needed to be done.

What made the difference….commitment, awareness and making it a necessity and taking it one day at a time. Not really that difficult when you try it. Most people never will,

Create that habit today.

The Easy Way or the Productive Way

Are you always looking for the easy way to do something?

Most people will look for more information to find the easiest way to get to where you are going but….

Most people spend so much time getting more information to find the easiest and best way of doing something and get stuck in info gathering mode

I don’t worry so much about finding the easiest rout or the path of least resistance anymore. The most important thing is actually starting and doing something and then you just figure out better ways of doing things as you go along.

If you wait for the easiest/ most travelled route, I would almost 100% say that it will not work for you. If everyone is doing it this way and most people are failing then you do not want the easiest route. You want to find someone who has done it before you who can help you get there or just figure it out as you go along.

The route to get there is not important to me now, getting there is the most important thing for me.

Learn about autoresponders because they can turn a list of potential customers into a group of loyal buying customers when used in the right way.

What if you could do away with cold calling? What if you did not have to interrupt people’s patterns and then try and sell them something?

What if you only spoke with people who wanted what you have to provide them with and they have their mind made up when they actually speak to you?

Do you think that could make you more money? Do you think that could give you more free time and less stress?

Would it be worth checking out and figuring out how to use so that it could give you more time to spend with those people who you really want to spend time with?

If you could write a message and send it out to a group of 1000 people with one click of a button and give them all value, would you want to use it?

Are You Afraid of Your Marketing Standing Out

Are you marketing your business with success?

Or are you spending money on advertising and not really sure what you get back in return for it?

When you begin advertising or marketing, you will worry about playing by the rules and marketing to the largest number of people that you can find….more than likely.


You need to realize that marketing is a way to create and build relationships with people and that if you actually take a chance and put your beliefs out there, people will either like it or they won’t.

Your job as a marketer is to get rid of as many of those people that will not do business with you as fast and as cheaply as possible.

It is a different way of thinking
